The 47th WorldSkills Competition took place in Lyon, France September 10-15, 2024. The prestigious event brings together 1,500 competitors—all under the age of 23—from over 65 countries and regions.

7. JR Machine
JR Machine increased its shop capabilities without updating any of its existing machines or installing new ones simply by upgrading its CAD/CAM software. In doing so, JR Machine reduced programming time and increased part quality.

10. Calhoun Project MFG Win

Every year it hosts a competition to test the advanced manufacturing skills —design, programming, multiaxis machining, welding, metrology, etc.—of students from all over the country. A Hollywood film crew films the tournament and creates an award-winning YouTube reality show, Clash of Trades.
