T\u00e4vlingen efterliknar de verkliga utmaningar som utforskare st\u00e4lls inf\u00f6r i den interplanet\u00e4ra rymden. Rovern \u00e4r tv\u00e5 meter l\u00e5ng och konstruerad n\u00e4stan helt i kolfiber. Att anv\u00e4nda ett starkt och l\u00e4ttviktigt material \u00e4r avg\u00f6rande eftersom fordonet m\u00e5ste ta sig fram i tuff topografi och \u00f6verm\u00e4ktiga hinder. Till deltagarnas f\u00f6rtjusning har museif\u00f6rem\u00e5l inf\u00f6rlivats i t\u00e4vlingsbanan.   <\/p>\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-full\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"1024\" height=\"684\" src=\"http:\/\/www.mastercam.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/04\/CCSUSpindle.jpeg\" alt=\"CCSU Axel i spindel\" class=\"wp-image-8235\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.mastercam.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/04\/CCSUSpindle.jpeg 1024w, https:\/\/www.mastercam.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/04\/CCSUSpindle-300x200.jpeg 300w, https:\/\/www.mastercam.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/04\/CCSUSpindle-768x513.jpeg 768w, https:\/\/www.mastercam.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/04\/CCSUSpindle-112x75.jpeg 112w, https:\/\/www.mastercam.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/04\/CCSUSpindle-224x150.jpeg 224w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 1024px) 100vw, 1024px\" \/><\/figure>\n\n<p>Rowan-Cabarrus Community College g\u00f6r sin del f\u00f6r att hantera arbetskraftskrisen genom att betj\u00e4na 25.000 studenter p\u00e5 sju platser i North Carolinas Rowan- och Cabarrus-counties.<\/p>\n\n<p>&#8220;Vi k\u00f6r faktiskt genom en utst\u00e4llning av en m\u00e5nkrater, vilket \u00e4r ganska h\u00e4ftigt eftersom det \u00e4r det n\u00e4rmaste man kommer att k\u00f6ra p\u00e5 m\u00e5nen&#8221;, s\u00e4ger Sudac.<\/p>\n\n<p>Inspirerad av Apollos m\u00e5nf\u00e4rder och framtida rymdutforskning inneh\u00e5ller den halvmilsl\u00e5nga banan 14 hinder och fem uppgifter, som alla ska utf\u00f6ras med en virtuell syref\u00f6rbrukning p\u00e5 sex minuter.<\/p>\n\n<p>&#8220;Det finns ett s\u00e4rskilt omr\u00e5de som ska efterlikna terr\u00e4ngen p\u00e5 Mars&#8221;, till\u00e4gger Sudac. &#8220;D\u00e4r finns gigantiska stenblock och om man inte \u00e4r f\u00f6rsiktig eller har ett tillr\u00e4ckligt bra fj\u00e4dringssystem kan man k\u00f6ra p\u00e5 ett stenblock och totalf\u00f6rst\u00f6ra sitt fordon p\u00e5 ett \u00f6gonblick.&#8221; <\/p>\n\n<p>P\u00e5 banan finns m\u00e5nkratrar, stenblock, sandl\u00e5dor, stenb\u00e4ddar, farthinder, erosionssp\u00e5r, simulerade asteroidrester och en fyra meter h\u00f6g kulle. Tv\u00e5personerslag har m\u00e5l som att samla in vatten- och markprover eller ta foton. F\u00f6r att hantera de nya hindren och kraven i t\u00e4vlingen skapar CCSU-teamet en robust design av rovern. Robusthet och storlek \u00e4r av st\u00f6rsta vikt: alla fordon i t\u00e4vlingen m\u00e5ste rymmas i ett utrustningsutrymme f\u00f6r landaren (5 ft x 5 ft x 5 ft). CCSU-teamet f\u00f6rlitar sig p\u00e5 CAD-programvara f\u00f6r design av sin rover. En s\u00e4rskild komponent fick s\u00e4rskild uppm\u00e4rksamhet.     <\/p>\n\n<p>&#8220;Vi anv\u00e4nder Mastercams CAD-program f\u00f6r att designa axeln, en av de viktigaste delarna f\u00f6r oss&#8221;, s\u00e4ger Sudac.<\/p>\n\n<p>Tidigare hade teamet problem med prestandan p\u00e5 sin roveraxel, som bestod av tv\u00e5 eller tre st\u00e5ldelar. Under en t\u00e4vling f\u00f6r ett par \u00e5r sedan uppstod ett axelfel n\u00e4r axeln skars av p\u00e5 b\u00e5da sidor. I \u00e5r anv\u00e4nde studenterna Mastercam f\u00f6r att designa en axel av ett enda massivt st\u00e5lstycke.  <\/p>\n\n<p>&#8220;P\u00e5 s\u00e5 s\u00e4tt skulle den inte g\u00e5 s\u00f6nder&#8221;, s\u00e4ger Sudac. &#8220;Och det gjorde den inte heller.&#8221; <\/p>\n\n<p>Sudac och hans team modellerar den blinda axeln i Mastercam. Edit Spline-funktionen anv\u00e4nds f\u00f6r att f\u00f6rfina splines medan Sprocket-funktionen hj\u00e4lper till att skapa geometrier f\u00f6r kedjehjul f\u00f6r att s\u00e4kerst\u00e4lla att de passar in i basen p\u00e5 transmissionen. Eftersom studenterna inte kunde tillverka en 4-axlig del med CCSU:s maskinkapacitet tog de hj\u00e4lp av CNC Software Inc:s ingenj\u00f6rer som skapade G-kod och tillverkade roveraxeln.  <\/p>\n\n<p>&#8220;N\u00e4r det g\u00e4ller frivillig maskintid f\u00f6r skolor s\u00e4ger vi v\u00e4ldigt s\u00e4llan nej&#8221;, s\u00e4ger Mark Baker, applikationsingenj\u00f6r p\u00e5 CNC Software, Inc.<\/p>\n\n<p>Efter att den tidigare designen misslyckats skapar CCSU-teamet en mer flexibel och h\u00e5llbar konfiguration och tillverkar axeln fr\u00e5n ett enda stycke kromolyst\u00e5l. Bearbetningen av den \u00be&#8221; x 10&#8243; stora delen p\u00e5 en Mazak Mill-Turn Integrex i100 ST tar tv\u00e5 timmar. <\/p>\n\n<p>Den nya axeln \u00e4r hj\u00e4rtat i en helt omdesignad rover. Teamet placerar sig inte bland de 10 b\u00e4sta i m\u00e5l, men skapar det f\u00f6rsta bladfj\u00e4dringssystemet i kompositmaterial i NASA-utmaningen. Tack vare en str\u00f6mlinjeformad CAD-motor kunde studenterna dra nytta av programvarans anv\u00e4ndarv\u00e4nlighet. Det \u00e4r enkelt att skapa komplexa delar och tr\u00e5dmodell, ytmodell och solidmodell m\u00f6jligg\u00f6r enkel geometrimodellering och redigering.   <\/p>\n\n<p>&#8220;Mastercam g\u00f6r det mycket enkelt f\u00f6r oss att skapa n\u00e5got som inte kommer att misslyckas n\u00e4r vi beh\u00f6ver det f\u00f6r att lyckas&#8221;, s\u00e4ger Sudac. &#8220;Den klarade det p\u00e5 ett fantastiskt s\u00e4tt.&#8221; <\/p>\n\n<p>Ke Wang, CNC Softwares chef f\u00f6r applikationsteknik, s\u00e4ger att hans grupps samarbete med CCSU \u00e4r \u00f6msesidigt f\u00f6rdelaktigt. Medlemmarna i Rover-teamet f\u00f6rb\u00e4ttrar designen och h\u00e5llbarheten hos sitt fordon och CNC Softwares ingenj\u00f6rer f\u00e5r en n\u00e4rbild av n\u00e4sta generations anv\u00e4ndare av <a href=\"\/sv\/?page_id=36527\">CAD\/CAM-programvara<\/a>. &#8220;Att arbeta med studenter \u00f6ppnar verkligen v\u00e5ra sinnen f\u00f6r hur den unga generationen interagerar med programvaran&#8221;, s\u00e4ger Wang.  <\/p>\n\n<p>Framtiden f\u00f6r tillverkningsindustrin ser ljus ut.
