What Mastercam Means to Us

As we move into the second half of our 30th anniversary year, we’re taking a look back and reflecting on what Mastercam has meant to us at CNC Software over the last three decades.

  • It means we’ve participated in a developing industry.
We’ve been here as PC-based CAM software came to prominence, and we were fortunate enough to work hand-in-hand with machine tool builders, tooling manufacturers, and shop-floor experts who not only helped usher in, but also shape the future of CNC programming.
  • It means we’ve seen some amazing things.
From elaborate amusement park constructs and vehicles that explore other planets to medical miracles and students just entering the field, we’ve had the fantastic opportunity to witness our software used in the most amazing ways.
  • It means we’ve been able to help.
Machine shops are high-pressure places, and machinists and programmers do some incredible things. Projects need to get done, and need to get done now. No matter what. We’ve been pleased to help shops do what needs to be done and help foster their machining creativity.
  • Most importantly, it means we’ve gotten to work with you.
It’s an old idea, but it’s true. We’re proud of the global Mastercam community and what it does on a daily basis. We’re always thrilled to meet users at shows, open houses, and at their shops. We’re always fascinated by the work we see. We just make the software. You make it sing. And we look forward to seeing what you do in the next thirty years.

We would love to know . . . what does Mastercam mean to you?

For those who haven’t seen it, here are our company principals talking about how CNC Software started, where it’s been and where it’s going.
