The Panther Project Succeeds with FIRST Robotics
The Panther Project is a FIRST Robotics team made up of students at Pomperaug Regional Highschool from Southbury and Middlebury, Connecticut. Faculty Advisor to the team, Brian Marganski, wrote to us to share some of the team’s success.
Twenty students from the school participated in the past season. The Panther Project competed in two district events, advancing to the semi-finals.
FIRST Robotics Competition is a fantastic way for high school youth to engage with STEM in a way that is fun, challenging, and meaningful. Participants form teams through schools, libraries, and other youth organizations to design, build, and compete with their original robots.
Brian shared that the Panther Project appreciated being able to use professional CAM software to develop custom robotic parts. They used Mastercam to design frame hole patterns and drivetrain components.
Mastercam is proud to sponsor participants in FIRST Robotics Competition, like the Panther Project, by providing free software and support. FIRST Robotics teams are encouraged to complete our software request form to get started.
