Recap from SOLIDWORKS WORLD
SOLIDWORKS WORLD 2016 wrapped up with a bang as five thousand enthusiastic engineers spent three days digging into every aspect of design and manufacturing. We talked to a lot of SOLIDWORKS users looking for ways to bring their designs to life, either wanting to take their parts from prototype to manufacture or thinking of getting a first machine to start their own small shop.
In addition to our usual Mastercam staff, we had local experts and a tooling specialist from ISCAR to give advice to both newcomers and experienced pros on how best to produce their parts. We recapped much of our advice in a presentation to the attendees showing how custom motorcycle wheel creators SMT Machining (http://www.smtmachining.com/default.asp ) overcame their manufacturing challenges with some sharp thinking and the right tools.
On the final day we got the chance to answer questions from young student engineers, and the enthusiasm was contagious. There was a welcome focus on the next generation of industry professionals, and SOLIDWORKS even announced a product geared toward getting school kids interested in engineering design.
If you visited us in the booth keep an eye on your e-mail. We’ll be randomly selecting six winners for a $500 tooling package generously provided by ISCAR tools. We’ll see you at SOLIWORKS WORLD 2017!
