Orange County Choppers to Judge 2008-2009 Innovator of the Future Competition
The Mastercam Innovator of the Future competition entices students with a real-world manufacturing challenge, celebrity judge, and a chance to win scholarship money plus a trip to New York. The 2008-2009 competition challenges students to use Mastercam to machine a full-scale gas cap to be judged by Jim Quinn of Orange County Choppers. Students are required to do precision engineering and machining as well as adding an artistic feature. The part must not only meet certain part specifications but must also showcase a high level of creativity and innovation.
The student who designs the winning entry will be awarded a $1,000 scholarship. In addition, the winner and the Mastercam course instructor also receive a trip to New York to tour the Orange County Choppers shop, to Connecticut to tour the CNC Software corporate headquarters and, if scheduling allows, the trip will also include a visit to the industrial EASTEC show in West Springfield, MA, May 19-21, 2009. Everyone who enters the competition receives an exclusive Mastercam IOF shirt.
