Mastercam Innovator of the Future Contest

Do you have (or know) a child that thinks machining is cool? Do you know a young adult that you want to get excited about machining? If so, we have just the competition for you to get them started in manufacturing and machining…the Innovator of the Future (IOF) Competition!
The 2014 IOF competition challenges students to modify and machine an optic mirror. The mirror is similar in design and function to mirrors that are used in industry-leading aerospace and technology projects. The part entries will be judged by a team of experts at Optimax. Optimax, founded in 1991 and located in Ontario, NY, builds the optics behind the latest breakthrough technologies in aerospace, defense, and consumer electronics.
The grand prize for the competition is amazing! The winner will receive a $1,000 check, a seat of Mastercam Mill Level 1 software, and a trip for two to visit the Kennedy Space Center with CNC Software and Optimax! If you are the one who gets the winner to enter our competition, you will receive a plaque and a special IOF polo shirt.

But, you have to hurry. The deadline to get a part submitted is May 15, 2014. For more information on the IOF competition, including the rules, part specifications, and where to ship your part, please visit
