CNC Software on Manufacturing Day
Last Friday, CNC Software/Mastercam hosted several groups at its home office in Tolland, CT, in support of MFG DAY 2014. MFG DAY was developed to address common misperceptions about manufacturing by giving companies an opportunity to open their doors and show, in a coordinated effort, what manufacturing is — and what it isn’t. By working together during and after MFG DAY, manufacturers will begin to address the skilled labor shortage they face, connect with future generations, take charge of the public image of manufacturing, and ensure the ongoing prosperity of the whole industry.
Friday’s event at CNC Software/Mastercam was well attended and included a group of students from Tantasqua Regional High School in Fiskdale, MA. Their instructor, Patrick LaRiviere, stated, “My students were impressed with your company, its corporate structure and initiatives. By far however, they viewed the machines in the shop with awe. We do not have any 4th axis capabilities and for them to view what is possible in this industry was astonishing to them.”
All guests got to enjoy lunch and a tour of the building which focuses on green initiatives. They were then given a live presentation of what Mastercam is and what it can do, followed by a visit to our machine shop where several machines were cutting parts.
