CNC Software attends the 2015 National HTEC
This week (July 27 – 30), our newly appointed President, Meghan Summers West, will be heading to the National HTEC Conference at California Polytechnic State University to deliver a keynote address focused on the future of manufacturing. During her presentation, Meghan will focus on the need to Acquaint, Convince, and Excite (ACE) the Next Generation of Manufacturing.
“The need for manufacturing jobs over the next few years will be high,” says West, “but formal programs that combine on-the-job learning with classroom education are dropping. This creates an obvious skills gap that needs to be addressed.”
In addition to the keynote, the CNC Educator’ Training Conference’s theme is Innovative Manufacturing Education Through “Learn By Doing,” and will include workshops, breakout sessions, and over thirty industry leading HTEC Partner exhibitors displaying their technology programs and educational materials. The conference is about sharing and profiling best CNC education practices, program building and innovation, ways to attract students, and developing employment opportunities for students with industry and association partnerships. CNC Software’s dedicated educational division will be on hand to provide training and educational presentations during this year’s event. The educational division was created to address the current and future needs of the manufacturing industry through a concerted focus on engaging and training tomorrow’s manufacturing leaders. By learning Mastercam, students are better prepared to enter the workforce and secure employment in a wide range of industries and roles.
