Apr\u00e8s avoir acquis une exp\u00e9rience professionnelle pr\u00e9cieuse chez Cessna, Scaled Composites et Adam Aircraft, les Shaw sont rentr\u00e9s chez eux, dans le comt\u00e9 de Crawford (Illinois), en 2001, pour cr\u00e9er leur propre soci\u00e9t\u00e9 de conseil en ing\u00e9nierie a\u00e9rospatiale, Flying S, Inc. David Shaw n&rsquo;a pas tard\u00e9 \u00e0 conclure qu&rsquo;il devait \u00eatre en mesure de fabriquer ses propres designs afin de mieux contr\u00f4ler la qualit\u00e9 et les d\u00e9lais. Peter Bowman, dipl\u00f4m\u00e9 du programme de fabrication de l&rsquo;universit\u00e9 voisine de Vincennes et du programme d&rsquo;apprentissage de ma\u00eetrise de l&rsquo;usine Haas Automation en Californie, a \u00e9t\u00e9 l&rsquo;un des artisans de ce d\u00e9m\u00e9nagement. Bowman a apport\u00e9 avec lui sa connaissance d&rsquo;une large gamme d&rsquo;\u00e9quipements CNC Haas, un lien avec Vincennes et sa ma\u00eetrise de Mastercam, qui est largement utilis\u00e9 \u00e0 la fois \u00e0 l&rsquo;Universit\u00e9 de Vincennes et \u00e0 Flying S.  <\/p>\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-embed is-type-video is-provider-youtube wp-block-embed-youtube wp-embed-aspect-16-9 wp-has-aspect-ratio\"><div class=\"wp-block-embed__wrapper\">\n<iframe loading=\"lazy\" title=\"Doing Things that Change the World\" width=\"500\" height=\"281\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/NDb0tbwGiZE?feature=oembed\" frameborder=\"0\" allow=\"accelerometer; autoplay; clipboard-write; encrypted-media; gyroscope; picture-in-picture; web-share\" referrerpolicy=\"strict-origin-when-cross-origin\" allowfullscreen><\/iframe>\n<\/div><\/figure>\n\n<p>Au cours de l&rsquo;\u00e9t\u00e9 2016, un nouveau b\u00e2timent a \u00e9t\u00e9 agrandi pour donner \u00e0 l&rsquo;\u00e9quipe plus d&rsquo;espace pour se d\u00e9velopper et grandir &#8211; elle avait augment\u00e9 de plus de 300 % pour atteindre environ 50 personnes en seulement cinq ans.<\/p>\n\n<p>Bowman dirige une \u00e9quipe de programmeurs\/usiniers qui \u00e9crivent tous des programmes et utilisent tous des \u00e9quipements, de sorte qu&rsquo;ils connaissent parfaitement la mani\u00e8re dont les changements de strat\u00e9gies de programmation affectent les op\u00e9rations de fabrication. Ces formes libres peuvent \u00eatre complexes, avec jusqu&rsquo;\u00e0 trois ou quatre millions de lignes de code, et elles peuvent fonctionner sans surveillance sur leur \u00e9quipement CNC jusqu&rsquo;\u00e0 une semaine d&rsquo;affil\u00e9e. Souvent, l&rsquo;\u00e9quipe est charg\u00e9e de produire un de ces moules tous les deux jours, ce qui n\u00e9cessite des capacit\u00e9s de programmation efficaces, ainsi que des strat\u00e9gies de fabrication qui optimisent l&rsquo;enl\u00e8vement de mati\u00e8re sur la machine.  <\/p>\n\n<p>Optimization begins with a solid model. The software\u2019s Model Prep function allows programmers to manipulate solids directly, without having to go back to the design team. \u201cIt eliminates waiting, duplication of effort, and keeps the work moving forward,\u201d said Bowman.  <\/p>\n\n<p>The team at Flying S relies heavily on toolpaths incorporating <a href=\"https:\/\/www.mastercam.com\/fr\/dynamique\/\">Dynamic Motion technology<\/a> which constantly maintains the tool vendor\u2019s chip load recommendations for safe optimal removal rates. Bowman noted that these toolpaths are easy to program, and link to one another with smooth transitions minimizing handwork after machining. The toolpaths are so stable they can be used with confidence for days on end in unattended operation. M\u00eame si nous pouvons avoir jusqu&rsquo;\u00e0 12 personnes diff\u00e9rentes capables de programmer cette pi\u00e8ce particuli\u00e8re, nous utilisons toujours le m\u00eame processus. Nous utilisons beaucoup les biblioth\u00e8ques d&rsquo;outils de Mastercam. Elles ont \u00e9t\u00e9 un excellent moyen de r\u00e9duire les risques.<\/p>\n\n<p>Bowman ajoute : \u00ab\u00a0Il nous arrive souvent de travailler sans surveillance, m\u00eame sur des pi\u00e8ces que nous n&rsquo;avons jamais travaill\u00e9es auparavant. Nous avons confiance en Mastercam pour appuyer sur &lsquo;cycle start&rsquo; et laisser le travail se d\u00e9rouler\u00a0\u00bb. Plus d&rsquo;un tiers des programmes \u00e9crits int\u00e8grent le palpage en cours de fabrication et la d\u00e9tection de bris d&rsquo;outil et fonctionnent en tandem avec les palpeurs Renishaw des machines. Bowman ajoute : \u00ab\u00a0C&rsquo;est un autre moyen pour nos employ\u00e9s de se familiariser avec la technologie : \u00ab\u00a0C&rsquo;est une autre fa\u00e7on pour nos gars d&rsquo;en faire plus avec des machines totalement sans surveillance\u00a0\u00bb.  <\/p>\n\n<p>Il a indiqu\u00e9 que la majorit\u00e9 des pi\u00e8ces en fibre de carbone fabriqu\u00e9es pour les industries de l&rsquo;a\u00e9rospatiale et de la course automobile sont limit\u00e9es manuellement. M. Bowman a d\u00e9clar\u00e9 : \u00ab\u00a0J&rsquo;ai failli rire lorsque notre <a href=\"https:\/\/www.mastercam.com\/fr\/?page_id=34718\">revendeur CAO\/FAO<\/a> nous a dit que nous pouvions cr\u00e9er des programmes de limitation des ar\u00eates multiaxes en quelques clics de bouton dans Mastercam. Je lui ai dit que nous devions avoir cela et je lui ai donn\u00e9 ma carte de cr\u00e9dit sur-le-champ. Aujourd&rsquo;hui, nous pouvons usiner un composant de vol de drone complexe en fibre de carbone et l&rsquo;ajuster parfaitement \u00e0 une pi\u00e8ce que nous avons fabriqu\u00e9e il y a plusieurs ann\u00e9es.
