Des \u00e9quipes de lyc\u00e9ens et d&rsquo;\u00e9tudiants sont invit\u00e9es \u00e0 concevoir, construire et tester des technologies permettant aux rovers de fonctionner dans des environnements difficiles. Les fonctions traditionnelles sont regroup\u00e9es en quelques clics, ce qui simplifie les pi\u00e8ces complexes. <\/li><li>La mod\u00e9lisation filaire, surfacique et solide permet de mod\u00e9liser et d&rsquo;\u00e9diter directement la g\u00e9om\u00e9trie.<\/li><\/ul><\/li><\/ul>\n\n<p>La mission du concours est d&rsquo;inspirer les participants \u00e0 devenir des ing\u00e9nieurs qui concevront un jour les syst\u00e8mes spatiaux de nouvelle g\u00e9n\u00e9ration de la NASA. Le concours reproduit les d\u00e9fis r\u00e9els auxquels les explorateurs sont confront\u00e9s dans l&rsquo;espace interplan\u00e9taire. Le rover mesure un m\u00e8tre cinquante de long et est presque enti\u00e8rement construit en fibre de carbone. L&rsquo;utilisation d&rsquo;un mat\u00e9riau solide et l\u00e9ger est cruciale, car le v\u00e9hicule doit traverser des reliefs accident\u00e9s et des obstacles hors du commun. Pour le plus grand plaisir des participants, des pi\u00e8ces de mus\u00e9e sont int\u00e9gr\u00e9es au parcours de la course.   <\/p>\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-full\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"1024\" height=\"684\" src=\"http:\/\/www.mastercam.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/04\/CCSUSpindle.jpeg\" alt=\"CCSU Corps dans la broche\" class=\"wp-image-8235\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.mastercam.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/04\/CCSUSpindle.jpeg 1024w, https:\/\/www.mastercam.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/04\/CCSUSpindle-300x200.jpeg 300w, https:\/\/www.mastercam.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/04\/CCSUSpindle-768x513.jpeg 768w, https:\/\/www.mastercam.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/04\/CCSUSpindle-112x75.jpeg 112w, https:\/\/www.mastercam.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/04\/CCSUSpindle-224x150.jpeg 224w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 1024px) 100vw, 1024px\" \/><\/figure>\n\n<p>Le Rowan-Cabarrus Community College contribue \u00e0 la lutte contre la crise de l&#8217;emploi en accueillant 25 000 \u00e9tudiants sur sept sites dans les comt\u00e9s de Rowan et Cabarrus, en Caroline du Nord.<\/p>\n\n<p>\u00ab\u00a0Nous pilotons \u00e0 travers un crat\u00e8re lunaire, ce qui est vraiment cool car c&rsquo;est la chose la plus proche de conduire sur la lune\u00a0\u00bb, a d\u00e9clar\u00e9 Sudac.<\/p>\n\n<p>Inspir\u00e9 par les missions lunaires Apollo et les futures explorations spatiales, le parcours d&rsquo;un demi-mile comporte 14 obstacles et cinq t\u00e2ches, toutes \u00e0 effectuer avec une r\u00e9serve d&rsquo;oxyg\u00e8ne virtuelle de six minutes.<\/p>\n\n<p>\u00ab\u00a0Il y a une zone sp\u00e9cifique pour imiter le terrain de Mars\u00a0\u00bb, ajoute Sudac. \u00ab\u00a0Il y a des rochers g\u00e9ants et, si vous n&rsquo;\u00eates pas prudent ou si vous n&rsquo;avez pas un syst\u00e8me de suspension suffisamment performant, vous pouvez heurter un rocher et d\u00e9truire compl\u00e8tement votre v\u00e9hicule en un instant.\u00a0\u00bb <\/p>\n\n<p>Le parcours comprend des crat\u00e8res lunaires, des rochers, des bacs \u00e0 sable, des lits de pierres, des ralentisseurs, des orni\u00e8res d&rsquo;\u00e9rosion, des d\u00e9bris d&rsquo;ast\u00e9ro\u00efdes simul\u00e9s et une colline d&rsquo;un m\u00e8tre cinquante. Les \u00e9quipes de deux personnes ont pour objectif de collecter des \u00e9chantillons d&rsquo;eau et de sol ou de prendre des photos. Pour faire face aux nouveaux obstacles et exigences de la comp\u00e9tition, l&rsquo;\u00e9quipe du CCSU a con\u00e7u un rover robuste. La robustesse et la taille sont primordiales : toutes les entr\u00e9es de v\u00e9hicules doivent tenir dans une baie d&rsquo;\u00e9quipement de l&rsquo;atterrisseur (1,5 m x 1,5 m x 1,5 m). L&rsquo;\u00e9quipe du CCSU s&rsquo;appuie sur un logiciel de CAO pour concevoir son rover. Un composant particulier a fait l&rsquo;objet d&rsquo;une attention particuli\u00e8re.     <\/p>\n\n<p>\u00ab\u00a0Nous utilisons le logiciel de CAO Mastercam pour concevoir l&rsquo;essieu, l&rsquo;une des pi\u00e8ces les plus cruciales pour nous\u00a0\u00bb, explique M. Sudac.<\/p>\n\n<p>Par le pass\u00e9, l&rsquo;\u00e9quipe a connu des probl\u00e8mes de performance avec l&rsquo;essieu de son rover, qui \u00e9tait compos\u00e9 de deux ou trois pi\u00e8ces d&rsquo;acier. Lors d&rsquo;une course, il y a quelques ann\u00e9es, le cisaillement des deux c\u00f4t\u00e9s de l&rsquo;essieu a entra\u00een\u00e9 une d\u00e9faillance du corps. Cette ann\u00e9e, les \u00e9tudiants ont utilis\u00e9 Mastercam pour concevoir un corps \u00e0 partir d&rsquo;une seule pi\u00e8ce d&rsquo;acier.  <\/p>\n\n<p>\u00ab\u00a0De cette fa\u00e7on, il ne se casserait pas\u00a0\u00bb, a d\u00e9clar\u00e9 Sudac. \u00ab\u00a0Et \u00e7a n&rsquo;a pas \u00e9t\u00e9 le cas\u00a0\u00bb. <\/p>\n\n<p>Sudac and his team model the blind shaft in Mastercam. The Edit Spline function is used to refine splines while the Sprocket feature helps create geometries for sprockets to ensure that they will fit into the base of the transmission. Unable to manufacture a 4-axis part with CCSU\u2019s machine capabilities, the students sought the help of CNC Software Inc. engineers who created G-code and produced the rover axle.  <\/p>\n\n<p>\u00ab\u00a0Lorsqu&rsquo;il s&rsquo;agit de temps machine volontaire pour les \u00e9coles, nous disons tr\u00e8s rarement non\u00a0\u00bb, a d\u00e9clar\u00e9 Mark Baker, ing\u00e9nieur d&rsquo;application, CNC Software, Inc.<\/p>\n\n<p>After its previous design failed, the CCSU team creates a more flexible, durable configuration and produces the axle from one solid piece of chromoly steel. Machining of the \u00be\u201d x 10\u201d part on a Mazak Mill-Turn Integrex i100 ST takes two hours. <\/p>\n\n<p>Le nouvel essieu est au c\u0153ur d&rsquo;un rover enti\u00e8rement repens\u00e9. L&rsquo;\u00e9quipe ne se classe pas parmi les 10 premiers, mais elle cr\u00e9e le premier syst\u00e8me de suspension \u00e0 lames en mat\u00e9riaux composites dans le cadre du d\u00e9fi de la NASA. Gr\u00e2ce \u00e0 un moteur CAO rationalis\u00e9, les \u00e9tudiants ont b\u00e9n\u00e9fici\u00e9 de la facilit\u00e9 d&rsquo;utilisation du logiciel. La cr\u00e9ation de pi\u00e8ces complexes est simplifi\u00e9e et la mod\u00e9lisation filaire, surfacique et solide permet de mod\u00e9liser et d&rsquo;\u00e9diter directement la g\u00e9om\u00e9trie.   <\/p>\n\n<p>\u00ab\u00a0Mastercam nous permet de fabriquer tr\u00e8s facilement un produit qui n&rsquo;\u00e9chouera pas lorsque nous aurons besoin qu&rsquo;il r\u00e9ussisse\u00a0\u00bb, a d\u00e9clar\u00e9 M. Sudac. \u00ab\u00a0Il s&rsquo;en est sorti \u00e0 merveille. <\/p>\n\n<p>Ke Wang, CNC Software\u2019s Manager of Applications Engineering, says his group\u2019s collaboration with CCSU is mutually beneficial. Rover team members improve the design and durability of their vehicle and CNC Software engineers have a close-up view of the next generation of <a href=\"https:\/\/www.mastercam.com\/fr\/solutions\/\">CAD\/CAM software<\/a> users. \u201cWorking with students really opens our minds about how the young generation interacts with the software,\u201d says Wang.  <\/p>\n\n<p>The future of manufacturing looks bright.
