Since 1962, Precision Manufacturing Solutions has been on the forefront of innovation in the manufacturing industry. Its shop is state of the art; its techniques are revolutionary; and its equipment is constantly being upgraded.<\/p>\n\n<p>The shop\u2019s Mazak Integrex iii Series 11-axis milling and contouring CNC machine is indispensable for the complex prototyping work for which Precision Manufacturing Solutions is known. Using the machine hasn\u2019t always been straightforward, though. The Mazak\u2019s dual toolheads operate separately and require different toolpaths. And, while the programmers have found Mastercam Mill-Turn to be invaluable in pushing the machine to its full potential, writing the post for this machine was proving to be a significant challenge, because one toolpath cancelled out the other. The top simply would not work with the bottom. McAlevey tested each new version of the post, checking for issues and reporting on successes. <\/p>\n\n<p>L&rsquo;\u00e9quipe savait d\u00e8s le d\u00e9part que le projet serait compliqu\u00e9. \u00ab\u00a0Nous ne pouvions pas prendre la g\u00e9n\u00e9ration du code \u00e0 l&rsquo;ancienne d&rsquo;un nouveau moteur et nous contenter de la convertir en une nouvelle plateforme. Nous avons d\u00fb d\u00e9velopper l&rsquo;ensemble \u00e0 partir de z\u00e9ro. Il ne s&rsquo;agissait pas d&rsquo;une conversion \u00e0 l&rsquo;identique\u00a0\u00bb, explique M. Sanchez. <\/p>\n\n<p>En continuant \u00e0 chercher une solution, l&rsquo;une des principales pr\u00e9occupations de l&rsquo;\u00e9quipe \u00e9tait l&rsquo;adaptabilit\u00e9 du code. Selon M. Sanchez, pour trouver une solution qui puisse convenir \u00e0 n&rsquo;importe quel client, il fallait adapter le poteau aux sp\u00e9cifications uniques de la machine. \u00ab\u00a0Si nous suivons la fa\u00e7on dont la machine doit fonctionner, alors c&rsquo;est g\u00e9n\u00e9rique sur toute la ligne et si nous le donnons \u00e0 un autre client, il fonctionnera.\u00a0\u00bb  <\/p>\n\n<p>All three parties dedicated as much time as possible to the project, but each had its own commitments. Cimquest and CNC Software had many other clients to help, and Precision Manufacturing Solutions had its usual orders to fill. Le code g\u00e9n\u00e8re les deux t\u00eates d&rsquo;outils de mani\u00e8re transparente, ce qui permet une coupe simultan\u00e9e \u00e0 partir des deux. Heureusement pour les utilisateurs de Mazak, la g\u00e9n\u00e9ration du code peut \u00eatre ajust\u00e9e pour fonctionner avec n&rsquo;importe quelle machine sur la m\u00eame plateforme.
