Why choose Mastercam?
Mastercam is the Industry Standard
The most recent analysis of CAM software seats produced by CIMdata, Inc. shows that CNC Software’s Mastercam® is the world’s most widely-used CAM software. With more than 150,000 installed seats, Mastercam has more than twice the installed base of the closest competitor.
What does this mean for you? It means that when you choose Mastercam, you’re using innovative CAM software that has helped more shops achieve success than any other. It also means that skilled Mastercam users are much easier to find.
Mastercam’s Support is Second to None
Mastercam is supported by a worldwide network of dedicated, expert resellers who focus exclusively on ensuring that Mastercam fits your needs. They know the software, know your area, and are there when you need them.
Mastercam also enjoys a large online user community that offers advice, help, tips and tricks to fellow Mastercam programmers.
Mastercam is Dedicated to the Future
As one of the pioneers in PC-based CAD/CAM, Mastercam has a long history of company security and health. As a privately-owned company, we continue to focus exclusively on the needs of NC programmers. And as a CAD/CAM innovator, we’ll be here to work with you as you move into the future.
In-Process Stock Model
A precise machining stock model delivers a variety of benefits— viewing and verifying work as it progresses, performing stock model comparisons, and easily choosing existing stock for rest machining. Mastercam gives you the power to create accurate, fully-associative stock models at any point in your machining process. You can reference the model within that project or save it as geometry for other uses. You can even quickly bring in outside CAD models to use as starting stock models for added flexibility.
Fast 2D HST Region Chaining
Mastercam's 2D Dynamic Milling is now easier to use than ever with the introduction of Region Chaining. You can now explicitly define the area for a 2D dynamic milling toolpath by simply selecting the face to be machined and face (including non-planer faces) to be avoided. Mastercam treats the selections (even on open pockets) as complete machining chains.
More Powerful 2D HST Dynamic Toolpaths
The 2D HST Dynamic toolpaths include several enhancements. Variable toolpath radius allows the toolpaths to automatically adjust the toolpath radius in narrow channels or between islands. With Outside approach control, the toolpaths now include the ability to specify which side of the stock the tool approaches from.
Smart Rest Roughing
"OptiRest" is the latest 3D high speed toolpath – it performs rest rough milling operations to remove stock left from roughing passes with larger cutters. This powerful new toolpath compares the in-process stock model to the intended shape to create an optimized dynamic milling cleanup pass. The result is precise, efficient motion that is easier on your tooling and your machine.
Hybrid Finish "Filler" Passes
3D high speed Hybrid toolpaths now maintain all of the Z level cuts in the steep areas of your parts while filling in the shallow areas with scallop motion within a single Z section. These toolpaths combine the best of both worlds with waterline (constant Z) motion and scallop where needed. Now you can have both waterline and scallop motion at the same Z section, section after section The result is a much better finish and more efficient use of the tool.
64-bit Support
Mastercam is now available as a 64-bit application, which lets you take full advantage of your 64-bit hardware and operating systems.

As an independent software vendor partner with Dell, Mastercam receives and tests their latest hardware offerings to make sure that they are compatible with Mastercam. Once a system is received, Mastercam is installed and we run tests to insure the hardware platform and its individual components work without error. By eliminating the issue of incompatibility, both software and hardware vendors help reduce troubleshooting and resolution. If the system meets our approval, it is deemed “certified” and then listed on Dell's web page as a supported and recommended system from running Mastercam.
Clicking here will direct you to Dell’s Workstation Advisor page. Please follow their wizard to find the Dell Precision Workstations that are recommended for use with Mastercam.

SolidBox is a turnkey hardware integrator for Mastercam end users. SolidBox sells servers, desktops, and laptops that are configured specifically for Mastercam. Systems arrive with Mastercam software pre-installed. Your requested version of Mastercam is installed and configured with the most compatible system drivers available. This allows you to open the box, plug in your HASP, turn on the computer, and start working! SolidBox does not sell Mastercam software, rather they work with your Mastercam Value Added Reseller (VAR) to make sure your license of Mastercam is properly installed and ready to work for you.
