Are You the Next Innovator of the Future?

The Innovator of the Future contest gives one lucky student an opportunity of a lifetime, and helps introduce students to real-world manufacturing by asking them to produce a specific part that will be judged by a special guest from the manufacturing industry. CNC Software is excited to invite experienced manufacturers as judges. The first guest judge for 2005 was Boyd Coddington, of Discovery Channel's "American Hot Rod," the legendary hot-rod builder and designer. The task for the students in this first Innovator contest was to design and machine a car wheel.

Boyd selected one wheel design from the many great wheels that were entered into the contest. The winner of the first annual IOF competition is Zac Frame. To see more info on the winners and photos of their wheels, click here.

Students make amazing things with Mastercam. Now they can enter a nationwide competition for the chance to gain real-world experience. The Innovator of the Future contest is open to any individual student in the continental United States using Mastercam. The winning part will be chosen by the guest judge.

The winner will receive a $1,000.00 scholarship to the school of their choice. They will also have their part proudly displayed in the Mastercam booth at a national trade show. The winner and a chaperone will be a guest of CNC Software for a day at the show.

Contest Guidelines and Rules

1. The entry must be designed and programmed using Mastercam.

2. Entry must have a professional look and remain consistent with the theme industry standards.

3. Parts may be assembled in any manner relevant to the theme industry.

4. Documentation, photos, and an unpainted part must be used to demonstrate the process to completion.

5. The entry can be made of any material that would be acceptable to the theme industry.

6. The entry will become the property of CNC Software unless special arrangements are made.
