Can I continue to run my current version of Mastercam after installing Mastercam X?

You can run Mastercam X and Version 9 or older Mastercam versions concurrently. The Mastercam X installation program does not overwrite your prior Mastercam installation; it is installed in a separate location. If you are upgrading to Mastercam X from Mastercam Version 9.1 or an earlier release, no special file backup or archiving is necessary other than your company’s customary protocol for new software installation.

If you are upgrading Mastercam X to a more recent version, such as Mastercam X MR1, M2, or Mastercam X2, you can choose to overwrite the existing installation, or leave the previous version and install the new release in a separate location.
