Saving HST Operation Parameters to Default Operation Libraries
Users that are installing Mastercam X MR1 on a system that has or had SP1 on it will probably notice that their customized files were carried over from SP1. If the user decided to install by using the recommended method of uninstalling SP1, the user's custom files remained in C:\mcamx and are used by MR1 once it is installed. If the user chooses to install MR1 without deleting SP1, the option to run the migration utility appears at the end of the install, which copies the files from SP1 to MR1 while backing up the original MR1 files:
One problem that users are going to notice is when they attempt to use one of the new toolpaths, such as HST, in MR1. The below error message will appear every time they start creating one of these operations:
The solution to this problem is to add the HST operations into the operation default library. The easiest way to accomplish this is to follow these steps:
- Create a HST toolpath.
- Set to parameters to values that are acceptable as defaults.
- Select the "tool" field in the tree to the left.
- Right-click anywhere in the window and select "save parameters to defaults file:"
After saving the defaults, the above warning message will no longer appear.
