A Speedy Tour of Stewart-Haas Racing

Stewart-Haas Racing is rapidly rising in the ranks, quickly becoming one of the top NASCAR teams after bringing on driver Tony Stewart last year. They’re innovative, passionate, and always looking for an edge. And they use Mastercam as a competitive advantage.

A team from Mastercam headquarters recently dropped in for a visit at Stewart-Haas. We spent some time in their well-equipped shop (stocked, of course, with a wide variety of Haas machines). Their machine shop is positioned right inside the main foyer, allowing visitors to watch them work. The shop even features a beautiful training room that our local Mastercam Reseller–Jimmy Wakeford of Barefoot CNC–occasionally uses when hosting customer events.

Visitors can stop in and watch the machine shop in action.

After going over some of the jobs and associated toolpaths they’re running, we got a quick behind-the-scenes tour of their setup. We got a first-hand look at their building and testing facilities, complete with several huge templates that are lowered over in-process car bodies to ensure they conform to tight NASCAR standards. After that, it was a quick run through their car-lined showroom, and we were off to our next stop.
