CNC Software, Inc. Unveils Mastercam® X5 for SolidWorks®

at SolidWorks World 2011

Tolland, CT – SolidWorks World 2011 will feature the latest in the line of powerful Mastercam machining software. Stop by booth # 400 at the Henry B. Gonzalez Convention Center, San Antonio, TX, January 23-26, for a look at Mastercam X5 for SolidWorks, a fully integrated CAM application that runs seamlessly in SolidWorks. SolidWorks users can now program their parts directly within SolidWorks using Mastercam’s industry-leading toolpaths and machining strategies.

Mastercam for SolidWorks provides a full suite of cutting strategies, including Feature Based Machining (FBM) and 3D High Speed Machining (HSM) toolpaths. Mastercam for SolidWorks also delivers a powerful set of automated cleanup toolpaths, letting you get parts off the machine faster and with little or no handwork.

Mastercam for SolidWorks offers many benefits to both the Mastercam and SolidWorks communities alike. It relies on familiar, shop-tested parameter screens and processes, and presents a machining tree that provides quick access to any point in the machining process.

In addition to conventional 2D and 3D programming, Mastercam for SolidWorks offers a range of high power machining functions:

·              New OptiRough Toolpath is designed to remove large amounts of material quickly using its successful dynamic milling motion. Large, aggressive cuts are followed by fast, smaller up-cuts, safely delivering a fully roughed part faster than ever.

·              Hybrid finishing intelligently blends two efficient cutting techniques in a single toolpath. It evaluates the model shape and smoothly switches between constant Z cutting and scallop machining, resulting in dramatically finer finish with less work.

There are many more toolpaths in Mastercam for SolidWorks. And, the upcoming release will include multiaxis machining features. For more information, please visit
